Engage with me on my Fantasy Baseball Strategy

If my audience has a personality similar to mine, I know a sports topic blog would generate engagement from my audience. Baseball season is only weeks away, with the opening day starting on April 2. Many of fantasy leagues will be drafting teams before the season begins. Depending on the size of the league, your draft could be extremely crucial. The bigger the league the longer the wait between draft choices, anticipating that the player you want might not be available when the draft returns to your choice. As most fantasy leagues, make it fair and have the draft rotation as a snake where the player who ends the current rounds starts the following round.

Position matters; let us say you are in a 12-man pool. You select first. Your next two picks will not be for a while, selections 24 & 25. This is when you need to follow a strategy. As fantasy baseball is by far the most entertaining to follow, it is the largest league to follow. Teams usually consist of eight positional players and two utility players. There is two starting pitcher positions and two relief pitch positions. Then, players can choose four starters or relievers to place in the active line-up.

The strategy required to have a great year all depends on your position in the draft. My opinion of this upcoming year is to go hitter-heavy early and load up on arms in the later rounds. Using this strategy works well since it is easier to replace a pitcher than an all-star batter. Pitchers tend to become injured more frequently than fielders, considering the stress a pitcher places on his throwing arm.

My strategy to pick the corner positions: First Base and Third Base is very strong. There is a scarce number of great players at this position, who can influence your team. My picks for these positions would be at First Base: Alex Rizzo (Chicago Cubs) or Paul Goldschmidt (Arizona Diamond Backs). Third Base I would pick Nolan Arenado (Colorado Rockies) or Josh Donaldson (Toronto Blue Jays).

After selecting your corner positions I would select two outfielders. Having outfield depth is very important. If available I would select Charlie Blackmon (Colorado Rockies), George Springer (Houston Astros), or Giancarlo Stanton (Miami Marlins).

After building up the bats, I would start to select Pitchers. Selecting a pitcher who can win 13-15 games is very important. The reliever you select is going to be very important too. I would select Kenley Jansen (Los Angles Dodgers). The Dodgers pitcher has helped me the last two years, with the Dodgers winning 85+ games. He provided my team with 40+ saves.

I am a very passionate Baseball fan, If you are to interact with me on Twitter, @JDev506 I tend to share Baseball stories and am up to any conversation about Baseball. Feel free to reach out to me as this strategy has helped me for years!

I hope this strategy can help many of my followers in their upcoming fantasy baseball league drafts. I have used this strategy each year, and I have repeated as champion of my league. Here is to a three-peat. GO! JAYS! GO!
